Eleven million tons of raw milk produced in the country in
2019

According to the Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture information
Centre, Dr. Morteza Rezaiee, regarding milk production in 2019, has expressed
that: This year we expect to produce around 11 million tons of raw milk in the
country, with nearly 50% of its production is coming from modernized breeds in
modern environments. Rezaiee further stated: Small amounts of country milk are
provided from sheep, goats and buffalos.

Deputy Director of Animal Production Affairs of the Ministry
of Jihad-Agriculture added: The US is the leader in the dairy industry, and
Iranian cows are no lower than American cows.

 Rezai, after pointing
out that milk production in Iran is almost the same as in the US, has added
that: The average milk production per Iranian cattle per day nationwide is
33kg, which equates to about 10 tons of milk in a 305-day period and is
competitive with the US.
