Dryland wheat trials show promising Genotypes
Ilam – Promising dryland wheat lines and genotypes are under evaluation at research farms in Chardavol, with all fields reported free of yellow rust disease, according to a researcher from the Ilam Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center.
Mohammad Armiyoon said the genotypes are at heading to flowering stages and expected to reach physiological maturity within 30 days. “Despite recent rains, no rust infection has been observed, though daily monitoring continues due to favorable conditions for the disease.”
Before any spraying, trial plots will be cleared of weed residues to reduce competition and allow precise trait evaluation, he noted.
