Contract cultivation of 2 million hectares of wheat in 2022

The head of the executive of the wheat project stated that
the development of wheat cultivation is one of the policies of this Ministry of
Jihad- Agriculture, and added: In the current crop year, 260,000 hectares of
the country's wheat lands were contracted cultivation of wheat.
Sohrab Sohhrabi also stated: The area of wheat cultivation
in the 2020-2021 crop year was equal to five million and 875 thousand and 571
hectares. He also mentioned that: Of this area, 1,899,044 hectares are
irrigated wheat and 3,976,527 hectares are rain-fed wheat.
He then mentioned that: The provinces of Khuzestan, Fars,
Golestan and Kurdistan have the highest level of conventional agriculture.
Sohrabi acknowledged the use of fertilizers in wheat fields and added that:
Consumption of phosphate and potash fertilizers in wheat lands is essential,
therefore, one of the main axes of the conventional agricultural approach is to
provide fertilizer needed by farmers.
