Acting minister stresses significance of introducing modern
farming methods 

Iran’s acting Agriculture Minister Mohammad Aghamiri
stressed the significance of introducing modern farming methods in the ongoing
efforts to achieve food security and preserve agricultural land.

“Due to the shortage of skilled
manpower and failure of certain traditional farming methods, modern farming
techniques need to be introduced so that farmlands are maintained and food
security is achieved,” Aghamiri said in a meeting on Wednesday. 

He further described preservation of agricultural land as
imperative for prosperity of agriculture of Iran, warning against attempts to
change purpose of agricultural land into construction land. 

“The issue of conversion of
agricultural land needs serious attention, we should issue Agricultural Land
Title of Deeds in order to prevent this,” the interim minster said.
