’Agriculture Week to spotlight food security, national resilience’
Tehran – National Agriculture Week will serve as a platform to highlight Iran’s achievements in sustaining agricultural production, ensuring food supplies, and safeguarding national food security, according to the head of the Agriculture Week Commemoration Committee.
Referring to the designation of June 11-17 as National Agriculture Week in Iran, Seyed Sajjad Hosseini said that during this period, under the slogan “Food Security in Light of National Unity and Authority,” a series of programs will be implemented to further recognize and highlight the role of food producers and stakeholders engaged in ensuring food security in society.
He added that the event aims to present a national narrative of the agricultural sector’s role in maintaining production continuity, securing food availability, and preserving stability in the public food supply chain.
The official noted that the week’s programs are centered on key themes including food security, the Resistance Economy, national unity, national security, national strength, showcasing agricultural efforts under wartime and crisis conditions, and promoting transparent engagement with the public and the media.
“The central focus of Agriculture Week (2026) is to demonstrate how the sector has continued to produce, supply, and protect the nation’s food security, ensuring peace of mind for consumers and stability in food provision,” Hosseini said.
The annual observance highlights the contribution of farmers, producers, and agricultural workers to strengthening the country’s food security and resilience in the face of economic and external challenges.
