According to the information center of the Ministry of
Agriculture-Jihad, for the first time in the country, two mutant cotton
products, named “Parto” and “Taban”, tolerant to salinity, wilt disease, and
verticillium were unveiled.

These species were resulted from more than 14 years of
research of the researchers from the cotton research institute, in
collaboration with the nuclear agriculture research institute.

 These two mutant cotton
products were approved in Nov. 2018 by the National Committee for the
introduction of cultivars of the Organization of Research, Education and
Agricultural Promotion and named, and they will be available to cotton farmers
from the next harvest season.
