Two major Iranian research institutes step up cooperation on next-generation vaccines

Tehran - The Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute and the Pasteur Institute of Iran have held a joint coordination meeting to strengthen scientific and operational cooperation, advance next-generation vaccine development, and prepare for the country’s first International Congress on Vaccines and Vaccination, scheduled for May 2027.

The meeting, attended by senior officials from both institutions, focused on aligning research priorities and launching joint projects to showcase the combined scientific capacity of Iran’s two leading vaccine producers.

Ali Eshaqi, Head of the Razi Institute, said the international congress would symbolize effective collaboration and highlight the scientific standing of both institutions, stressing that joint programs should be carried out under a unified identity.

The Head of the Pasteur Institute of Iran announced that a bilateral cooperation agreement has been finalized and specialized working groups formed to develop novel vaccines.

He noted that joint projects, including pertussis vaccines and research based on advanced platforms such as mRNA, are expected to drive major research and development initiatives.
