Konarak – The uninterrupted operation of Konarak's tuna canning industry during wartime underscores the resilience of Iran's manufacturing sector, the effective use of domestic capabilities, and the vital role of the fisheries industry in safeguarding food security and supporting the national economy, the governor of Konarak County, located in Sistan-Baluchestan province, southeast of the country near the Sea of Oman, said.

 

Speaking during a visit to a tuna canning plant in the southeastern county of Konarak, Mohammad Younes Haqqani said the factory has continued production without interruption by relying on domestic resources and the commitment of its workforce.

 

"The continued operation of this facility has played a significant role in ensuring food security while contributing to the economic vitality of both Sistan and Baluchestan Province and the country as a whole," he said.

 

Haqqani described the uninterrupted functioning of industrial facilities during wartime as a testament to the determination, solidarity, and resilience of Iranian workers and manufacturers.

 

Highlighting Konarak's strategic position in Iran's fisheries sector, he said the sustained production of canned tuna has not only generated employment and stimulated regional economic growth but has also demonstrated the county's advanced capabilities in seafood processing.

 

 He added that maintaining production under challenging circumstances has helped ensure a stable supply of essential food products to the domestic market while reinforcing the resilience of the country's economy.
