Development of two hundred forty thousand hectares of the
novel irrigation systems plan in 2019

The project manager of the novel irrigation systems of the
Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture said: our operational progress is more than
175,000 hectares in the program, but we were able to increase it to 240,000
hectares, which of this amount, 110,000 hectares have been implemented so far.

Abbas Zare, regarding the performance of the new irrigation
systems plan in 2019, stated that: in 2018, according to the operational plan
that we had based on the agreement signed with the Program and Budget
Organization, about 175,000 hectares of irrigated land in the country should be
equipped with new irrigation systems.

He added: At present,
our operational progress is more than 175,000 hectares, and we were able to
increase the project to 240,000 hectares, of which 110,000 hectares have been
implemented and 130,000 hectares are under construction, which has 50% progress
so far. He, after referring to the number of projects related to the new
irrigation systems project, said: 12,000 projects are being implemented on
240,000 hectares, which covers about 60,000 farmers across the country and has
been successful in attracting all farmers.

He then reminded that: The policy of our government is to
develop local and drip irrigation, which increases irrigation efficiency by
about 44% inside the farm, and at least 30% increase in production with this
plan, as well as 30% reduction in consumption of fertilizers, pesticides and
seeds.
