Investment of 160 billion rials in the field of the first
consignment of dairy goats of Murcia
The Managing Director of the Central Organization of Rural
Cooperatives of Iran announced an investment of 160 billion Rials in the field
of the first shipment of dairy goats of Murcia and employment of 24 people in
this project.
In early May 2019, with the planning, support and
supervision of the Jihad- Agricultural Organization and the Rural Cooperative
Management of the province, the first shipment of Murcian dairy goats entered
Yazd province directly from Spain.
The dairy breed of Murcia from Spain with 210 days of
lactation per year with an annual production of more than 600 kg of milk with a
5.7% fat and 3.4% protein, which compared to other standard breeding records
such as Holstein, Alpine and Sanan, it has a much higher yield in terms of fat,
protein and lactose production efficiency, and this goat's high-fat milk is
used to produce cheese.
Other special advantages and characteristics of this breed
are short maturity, polygyny and adaptability to the climate of the region and
high resistance to various common animal diseases.
Shirzad emphasized in the end that: In the development
program of the breeding center for breeding of high-yielding Murcia goats in
Yazd province, with the aim of creating a valuable genetic reserve of this type
of breed in the country, 1,500 light livestock are modified annually and 720
tons of milk are added to the province's livestock production.
He then added: with increasing the productivity of livestock
inputs and developing micro- and sustainable rural employment, improving the
livelihoods of rural households, as well as developing the dairy industry
resulting from goat's milk, can be attained in the country.
