Tehran tops Iran’s mushroom production
Tehran- Tehran Province has emerged as the country’s leading producer of edible mushrooms, achieving an annual output of 42,400 tons cultivated across 223 hectares, according the head of the Tehran Agricultural Organization.
With a 23 percent share of national production, Tehran also ranks first in horticultural productivity, recording an impressive average yield of 38,995 kilograms per hectare, Jebrei’l Baradari.
The province produces more than 1.89 million tons of horticultural products each year and has set strategic goals to expand mushroom processing, packaging, and export capacities through a knowledge-based and technology-oriented approach, he added.
