Islamabad – Iranian Minister of Agriculture Gholamreza Nouri and Pakistan’s Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in agriculture, food security, and agricultural trade.

The talks took place on Tuesday during Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s official visit to Pakistan.

The two ministers reviewed the current state of agricultural relations and explored new opportunities to strengthen collaboration, increase agricultural exchanges, and enhance regional food security cooperation, according to the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The meeting comes as Iran and Pakistan mark the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations, underscoring the longstanding ties between the two neighboring countries. Discussions focused on advancing joint initiatives in agriculture and promoting greater cooperation to address regional food security challenges.

President Pezeshkian was received in Islamabad by Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with the visit expected to further strengthen economic and strategic cooperation between the two nations.
