Takestan – The early-season grape harvest is now underway in Takestan, Iran’s largest grape-producing city in Qazvin province, signaling new opportunities for both domestic sales and international exports.

 

Thanks to the introduction of high-yield commercial varieties, growers are not only increasing productivity but also tapping into lucrative foreign markets. While most vineyards in the region await the main harvest, premium early grapes from Takestan are already reaching buyers at home and abroad.

 

One notable example is the 12-hectare vineyard of Mr. Danaei in Rahimabad village. Planted five years ago with theFlamevariety, it has become one of the area’s leading producers of early-harvest grapes. The vineyard’s output supplies neighboring provinces and is also exported to Gulf countries, meeting international quality standards.

 

Local agricultural officials say the success of such ventures could serve as a model for other growers, encouraging the expansion of export-oriented, high-value grape cultivation across the region.
