Multi-layered food security strategy on agenda, agriculture minister says
Tehran - Iran's Ministry of Agriculture has unveiled operational plans for three distinct scenarios - war, ceasefire, and peace - confirming that even the most adverse conditions have been fully integrated into its strategic frameworks.
Gholamreza Nouri stressed that no emergency withdrawals have been made from the country's strategic reserves during recent conflicts, with domestic production meeting 85% of national food requirements.
Despite rising transportation costs and war risk insurance premiums, the supply of agricultural inputs remains uninterrupted. According to the minister, over 1.2 million tons of inputs are currently available and ready for distribution in the market.
"The ministry's core policy is built on a multi-layered contingency management approach, focused on three key priorities: preventing the culling of productive livestock and poultry, boosting domestic production, and restoring psychological reassurance to the market," he noted.
