Mazandaran – The northern Mazandaran Province has exported more than 44,000 tons of citrus fruits, setting a new record, the acting head of the Mazandaran Agriculture Organization announced.

 

Asadollah Teymouri said that as of December 17, 2025, kiwifruit accounted for the largest share of exports, with 954 consignments totaling about 20,092 tons. India was the main destination, receiving more than 8,000 tons, while the remainder was shipped to other markets.

 

He added that the province also exported 8,845 tons of tangerines and over 17,082 tons of oranges during the same period.

 

According to Teymouri, key export destinations included Eurasian countries such as Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, as well as states in the Persian Gulf region.

 

He stressed that sustainable growth in citrus exports depends on a knowledge-based, integrated value chain supported by improved farming practices, quality standards, effective packaging, and strong branding.
