Kerman - The Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute's Southeast Branch has launched a production line for the 40-dose Infectious Hepatic Gangrene vaccine (also known as Black Disease Vaccine) at its Kerman facility, aiming to improve livestock breeders' access to veterinary vaccines and lower production costs.

Mojtaba Ali-Mollaei, Head of the institute's Southeast Branch, said the vaccine is a strategic product essential for protecting the health of small ruminants.

“Following the revival of the 100-dose production line last winter after a 10-year suspension, the Kerman branch has now expanded its portfolio with the 40-dose version. The branch produced more than 1.5 million doses of the vaccine this spring. The new packaging offers greater flexibility, allowing livestock breeders to choose a format that best suits the size of their operations.”

Vaccination against infectious hepatic gangrene is required twice a year for ruminants, and the new production line is expected to strengthen vaccine availability across southeastern Iran, Ali-Mollaei said.
