Iran’s stock exchange to trade fennel soon
Tehran – Fennel, known locally as green gold, will soon be listed on Iran's stock exchange, according to the parliamentary representative for the counties of Razan and Dargazin in the western province of Hamedan.
Seyed Abolhassan Mostafavi-Ghamam announced that the move will bring fair prices to consumers, a secure market to producers, and transparency and order to the economy.
Noting that Razan county produces the vast majority of the country's fennel – making it the national production hub – he added, "The listing of Razan fennel on the stock exchange will transform the farm-to-table supply chain from a traditional, unpredictable system into a modern, engineered one."
Mostafavi-Ghamam also said that, in an effort to boost economic efficiency and curb the raw sale of fennel, the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) of Hamedan province has begun scientific and operational work on research, development, and the establishment of processing and complementary industries for this strategic product.
He further emphasized that global registration of Razan fennel would help turn the region into an international tourism destination and introduce the product to travelers worldwide.
The lawmaker also highlighted the need to attract investment for fennel processing industries in Razan county.
