The ministry’s Acting Deputy for Water and Soil Affairs attended the committee’s inaugural meeting, which marked the launch of its new structure and aimed to enhance coordination among government agencies and other stakeholders in the water sector.
The official’s membership is based on Articles 15 and 16 of the Statutes of the UNESCO National Commission of Iran and a Cabinet resolution, giving the agriculture and water-management sectors a formal role in the committee’s activities.
Members agreed that future meetings would focus on greater inter-agency coordination and collaboration, with the committee’s programs and activities aligned with UNESCO’s priorities and roadmap for the water sector.
