Iran using AI to resolve agricultural land ownership disputes: Official
Tehran - Artificial intelligence (AI) is now being harnessed to support the resolution of agricultural land ownership disputes across Iran, according to the Director General of the Engineering and Cadastral Office at the National Organization for Land Affairs.
Mohammad Ahmadi underscored the crucial role of historical data, particularly imagery from the 1970s, in the identification of public lands and the protection of state property rights.
“Aerial and satellite images from that decade form a critical part of the data used to distinguish public from private lands,” he said.
Ahmadi explained that archival images sourced from international institutions are being analyzed using domestic technical capabilities and advanced AI algorithms. This initiative, currently underway in 11 provinces, aims to enhance both the precision and efficiency of the land dispute resolution process.
He added that the integration of AI into the processing and analysis of historical imagery marks a major advancement in land management. “The use of artificial intelligence significantly accelerates the resolution process and improves accuracy, providing a powerful tool to secure government land rights and resolve ownership uncertainties,” Ahmadi noted.
