Iran unveils climate-resilient soybean variety for mechanized farming
Tehran - Iran has introduced a new soybean variety, Arta (SOY-401-3), designed to boost productivity through enhanced environmental stress tolerance and efficient mechanized harvesting, following official approval by the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO).
Developed by Iranian plant breeders, Arta combines drought tolerance, resistance to pod shattering, optimal leaf drop at maturity, and a favorable pod height, improving harvest efficiency while reducing crop losses.
Officials said the new variety is expected to increase soybean yields, lower production costs, and advance the country's climate-resilient, technology-driven agricultural sector.
