Iran sets new record for rice production

Tehran – Iran's agricultural sector has achieved a significant milestone, with a 10% surge in rice production compared to the previous year.
This remarkable growth is attributed to the implementation of advanced cultivation techniques.
Sohrab Sohrabi, Director of the Agriculture Ministry’s Wheat and Rice Plan, highlighted the role of high-yielding seed varieties, land leveling, and innovative farming methods in boosting rice production.
He added that 16% of the country's rice is harvested using the sustainable ratooning method.
As a result of these efforts, Iran's rice production has reached a record high of 2.7 million tons in the current crop year.
This achievement solidifies the country's commitment to agricultural self-sufficiency and food security.
