Iran reports record poultry production growth in September
Tehran - Iran’s poultry sector posted record growth in September 2025, with total meat output from official slaughterhouses reaching 223,000 tons, up 8% year-on-year, a report says.
According to the report carried by the Statistical Center of Iran, chicken production rose 7%, while turkey output jumped 34% compared to the same month in 2024.
Chicken accounted for the bulk of production, with 114.9 million birds processed—equivalent to 218,800 tons of meat. Golestan Province led the country with over 13.7 million chickens slaughtered. Turkey production also surged to 2,867 tons, driven by strong performance in Isfahan Province, which ranked first nationally.
Overall, poultry output increased 3% from August, underscoring steady growth in Iran’s white meat sector—an important source of household protein and a key indicator for agricultural policy planning.
