Iran plans to integrate poultry industry for sustainable production

Tehran – Iran's Ministry of Agriculture has announced a new plan to restructure and integrate the country's poultry industry, aiming to enhance production stability, according to the acting head of the Livestock Production Affairs Deputy.

Rouhollah Zahmatkesh, who recently assumed the role, said, "Our first priority is to reorganize the poultry industry's structure to ensure sustainable production."

"We are pursuing the integration of all poultry supply chains so that producers can maintain stable output despite market fluctuations," he added.

The deputy noted that poultry chains in Iran are currently either highly fragmented or operating as single, isolated chains.

"Through integration, we can resolve these conflicts," he said.

Addressing the supply of livestock feed and inputs, Zahmatkesh explained that the issue involves multiple sectors, with part of the responsibility lying with the Commercial Development Deputy.

"The role of the Livestock Production Affairs Deputy is to provide honest and precise advisory support to the Commercial Development Deputy and to help diversify input sources," he said.
