Tehran – Iran's Ministry of Agriculture has lifted the temporary ban on date exports, confirming that no restrictions are currently in place.

The ministry said the export suspension, which lasted less than two months, was introduced during the recent conflict to ensure the stable domestic supply of essential food products.

“More than 450 agricultural tariff codes have since been cleared for export as wartime restrictions are phased out.”

Officials attributed the recent decline in date exports primarily to transportation and logistics disruptions, as well as the loss of key export markets, particularly in the Persian Gulf region. Restrictions on leased commercial trading cards imposed under foreign exchange regulations have also affected exports.

To support the sector, the ministry said it is pursuing measures including lower export base prices and easier foreign exchange repatriation requirements for exporters.
