Iran’s 6-month pistachio export stands at 137m dollars

Iran has exported 20,000 tons of pistachios worth $137
million during the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March
21-August 22), the data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs
Administration (IRICA) show.

Based on the IRICA data, the six-month export rose three
percent in terms of value, and seven percent in terms of weight, year on year.

Russia, Germany, India, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and
Kyrgyzstan were the main export destinations of Iranian pistachio during the period.

57.7% of the total value of pistachio exports in the first
six months of present year was exported to the five mentioned countries.

Although Iran is mostly known for its vast hydrocarbon
resources, there are some other precious products that people all around the
world put the Iranian brand on and appreciate greatly, one such product is
Iranian “green gold” or pistachio.
