Iran, Tajikistan resolved to strengthen agricultural cooperation

Iran and Tajikistan have pledged to expand their agricultural cooperation, focusing on technology, water and soil equipment, processing industries, and trade.

During the first meeting of the Iran-Tajikistan Joint Agricultural Cooperation Working Group, held virtually on Tuesday, Iran's Deputy Minister of Water and Soil emphasized the importance of expanding agricultural cooperation with Tajikistan and implementing various projects in this field.

Safdar Niyazi Shahraki called for the development of an action plan to implement the memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries.

He stressed that these memoranda should lead to concrete actions and produce tangible results.

Niyazi expressed Iran's readiness to cooperate with Tajikistan in the fields of seeds, vaccines, and agricultural training, saying that Iran is prepared to conduct training courses for Tajikistani experts, researchers, and farmers in various sectors, including water and soil, fisheries, livestock, poultry, greenhouses, and research.

During the meeting, Tajikistan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture also expressed his country's readiness to cooperate with Iran in all agricultural fields.

Meshkar Nazarzadeh Fazel noted that Tajikistan's needs for this cooperation include equipment and technology in areas such as water and soil, poultry farming, fish farming, and food processing industries.

He welcomed Iranian companies' investments in mechanization, water and soil, and packaging of export products.
