Iran, Kenya target $1b trade pact in Nairobi Summit

Nairobi - The Iranian minister of agriculture said the volume of trade between Tehran and Nairobi could reach one billion dollars.

Speaking at the business forum, Gholamreza Nouri thanked Kenyan Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi for hosting productive meetings between officials and private sector representatives.

"Kenya's strategic location in East Africa and abundant natural resources, combined with Iran's gateway position to West Asia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia, create exceptional opportunities for mutual trade expansion," he said.

The minister expressed optimism about resolving lingering trade issues, particularly in tea exports, while calling for enhanced private sector collaboration to capitalize on both nations' geographic advantages.
