Tehran – The Iranian minister of agriculture said the government is firmly pursuing economic reforms centered on social justice, with the dual goal of ensuring that public subsidies and entitlements are delivered directly to citizens while safeguarding sustainable national food security.

 

Speaking on Friday evening at a meeting of the ministry’s Council of Deputies, attended by President Masoud Pezeshkian, Gholamreza Nouri said the president’s presence highlighted the strategic importance of agriculture and food security at a time of heightened economic sensitivity.

 

The minister said the country is approaching the implementation of major economic reforms shaped through extensive coordination among the branches of government and executive institutions.

 

He stressed that, in line with the president’s guidance, the reforms are designed to ensure livelihood support reaches people accurately, transparently, and fairly.

 

He also paid tribute to farmers, livestock producers, and agricultural operators across the country, saying Iran’s food security is the result of their continuous efforts, from farms, rangelands, and forests to coastal and marine sectors.
