East Azarbaijan emerges as major hub for egg production in Iran
Tabriz – East Azarbaijan Province, in northwest of Iran, has solidified its position as one of Iran’s leading centers for poultry production, contributing nearly 10 percent of the country’s total egg output, according to the head of the provincial Agricultural Organization.
Shahram Shafiei said that the province produces around 116,000 tons of eggs annually, playing a key role in meeting domestic demand and stabilizing prices across the national market.
He praised the province’s well-managed and continuous poultry operations, which have helped maintain supply even under challenging conditions.
The official noted that egg production continues year-round in full compliance with health regulations and production standards. In the first seven months of the current year alone, over 67,700 tons of eggs were produced—some of which were distributed to neighboring provinces to support regional markets.
