Cultivation of Artemia cyst in Iran
This year, 60 to 70 tons of Artemia eggs or cysts in the
country are needed to feed shrimp, ornamental fish, sturgeon and larvae of sea
fish. The head of the country's Artemia Research Center said: In Iran, more
than 10 tons of adult Artemia and one thousand kilograms of Artemia cyst are
produced.
He also added: Artemia is
one of the strategic foods of shrimp in the larval stage, and according to the
production plan, about 60,000 tons of
shrimp should be produced in the country by 1400. Currently Cyst and Artemia
Mature are being produced in the provinces of Kerman and West Azerbaijan
Neloui-Fard, about the world price of Artemia cyst, told
that: The price of Artemia cyst varies from $ 50 to $ 150 per kilogram
depending on the quality.
He also mentioned that: The world's largest production of
Artemia is 2,000 tons per year, which is in the Great Salt Lake of the United
States.
-Frad also stated that: In Iran, the lakes of Urmia, Qom and
Miqan Arak with permanent water have a reliable potential for the production of
Artemia.
