Bushehr Province poultry farms hatch 2.1m chicks

Bushehr – Poultry farms in Bushehr Province recorded the hatching of 2.1 million chicks last month, signaling a steady continuation of chicken meat production across the region, according to Morteza Bahrani, Head of the Bushehr Agricultural Organization.

Bahrani noted that the chick hatching aligns with production targets aimed at ensuring a stable supply of poultry meat. “With 2.1 million chicks hatched last month, production is on track, and this month’s operations are expected to continue at the same pace,” he said in a statement to the organization’s public relations office.

He also highlighted ongoing challenges in the poultry sector, including recurring power outages and extreme summer heat, which have impacted operations. Labor shortages remain another concern, particularly the reliance on undocumented foreign workers. “Plans are in place to replace unauthorized labor with legal workers, though this transition presents its own difficulties,” Bahrani added.

Despite these challenges, Bahrani assured residents that essential goods remain widely available in local markets. “Thanks to coordinated oversight by the Market Regulation Headquarters, key commodities are being supplied at approved prices. There is no cause for public concern,” he emphasized.

He identified summer as a critical period for agricultural production of staple goods, noting that none of the province’s reserve warehouses have been tapped due to adequate market supply.

Addressing recent concerns about cooking oil shortages, Bahrani confirmed that more than 1,400 tons of edible oil have been distributed to retailers throughout the province.

To ensure price stability, he also announced the deployment of joint inspection and monitoring teams across Bushehr. “We will take firm legal action against profiteering and hoarding. There is zero tolerance for price manipulation,” Bahrani stressed.
