562 tons of chicken feet exported from East Azarbaijan in 9 months

East Azarbaijan - A total of 562 tons of chicken feet were exported from Iran’s East Azarbaijan province, northwest of Iran, during the first nine months of the Iranian calendar year 1404, according to the Veterinary Organization of Iran.

Mehdi Hami, Director General of the East Azarbaijan Veterinary Department, said 21 international veterinary health certificates were issued for these exports from the beginning of the year through the end of the nine-month period.

He made the remarks during a visit to a chicken feet packaging facility in Bostanabad County.

Hami noted that chicken feet are a high value-added poultry by-product in target markets and that expanding their export helps complete the poultry production chain, reduce waste, and improve industry productivity.

He emphasized that all stages of production, processing, packaging, storage, and transportation are carried out under continuous veterinary supervision, and export health certificates are issued only after full compliance with the sanitary requirements of destination countries is confirmed.

Hami added that adherence to health standards and close cooperation between producers and veterinary authorities are essential for maintaining access to international markets, boosting competitiveness, and supporting economic growth and employment in the province.
