TEHRAN – Iran’s saffron production is estimated to reach about 400 tons in the current Iranian calendar year (ends in late March 2025), according to the director of Agriculture Ministry’s medicinal plants national plan.

“This year, 127,000 hectares of farmland have been allocated for saffron cultivation," Hossein Zeynali said

 He added that 23 provinces of the country grow saffron and more than 93 percent of the country’s saffron is currently produced in North Khorasan, Khorasan Razavi, and South Khorasan provinces, Tehran Times reported.
