Iran Razi Institute sends first shipment of Polio Vaccine to Venezuela
Tehran – Iran’s prestigious Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute has successfully exported its first consignment of oral polio vaccine (OPV) to Venezuela.
"Following an emergency request from the Venezuelan government and a visit by a high-level delegation led by Venezuela's Deputy Minister of Science to the Razi Institute, we reached the necessary agreement to supply the oral polio vaccine," Ali Eshaghi, head of the Razi Institute announced.
The consignment was delivered to the Imam Khomeini (RA) Airport quarantine warehouse last week, completing its final procedures before arriving in Venezuela, he added.
Eshaghi praised the tireless efforts of the institute's staff, emphasizing that this initiative "is not only a response to the critical health needs of a friendly country but also heralds a new chapter for Razi Institute's exports to the South American region."
He expressed optimism that this venture will pave the way for a more substantial presence of the institute's products in key markets across Latin America, Eurasia, Africa, and neighboring countries.
