Razi Institute revives blackleg vaccine production line in Kerman
Kerman - After 10 years of interruption, the production line for the blackleg vaccine, a vital veterinary vaccine in Iran, has been restored by specialists at the Kerman branch of the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute.
The revival comes in response to urgent domestic demand and was carried out under challenging conditions.
The relaunch of this strategic vaccine line marks another step by the Razi Institute toward strengthening livestock health nationwide. The vaccine plays an essential role in preventing blackleg disease in ruminants.
Health personnel at the institute’s southeastern branch demonstrated exceptional dedication in reactivating the Kerman production line, staying true to the institute’s core mission of safeguarding public health amid difficult circumstances.
Blackleg is a major livestock disease requiring biannual vaccination for ruminants. The inactivated blackleg vaccine produced by the Razi Institute is now being used alongside imported alternatives to support livestock vaccination and ensure animal health security across the country.
