Pishva rings alarm for soil conservation

Pishva – A significant step towards promoting soil health and sustainability was taken on Sunday as the "Soil Conservation Bell" was rung at Shahid Farhang Girls' Elementary School in Pishva County.
The event, attended by Safdar Niazi Shahraki, Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Water and Soil Affairs, and other government officials, aimed to raise awareness about the critical role of soil in agriculture and the environment.
To engage young minds, various educational and interactive activities were organized. Additionally, officials toured an art exhibition showcasing students' creative interpretations of soil conservation.
World Soil Day, observed annually, highlights the importance of soil health in ensuring food security, biodiversity, and climate resilience. By emphasizing sustainable soil management practices, this global initiative aims to safeguard our planet's future.
Pishva County, located 45 kilometers southeast of Tehran, has over 12,000 hectares of arable land. With a population exceeding 80,000, the county is divided into two districts: the central district, encompassing the Asgariyeh and Pishva rural districts, and the Jalilabad district, which includes the Jalilabad and Tarand rural districts.
