Minister hails Razi institute as Iran’s pillar of national health
Tabriz - Gholamreza Nouri, Iran’s Minister of Agriculture, praised the 102-year-old Razi Institute during a visit to its northwest branch, calling it a “source of national pride” and “one of the country’s most distinguished scientific and health institutions.”
The minister underscored the institute’s vital role in safeguarding human and animal health, as well as its significant contribution to the national economy.
Highlighting domestic vaccine production, Nouri stated that roughly 80% of livestock vaccines and 75% of human vaccines are produced in Iran, with the Razi Institute responsible for 95% of human vaccine production and 100% of livestock vaccines.
The minister also announced the development of a national initiative, the “Serum and Vaccine Ecosystem,” launched under the President’s directive. The plan aims to secure the institute’s leadership into the next century through advanced technology, modern research infrastructure, and strategic collaboration with knowledge-based companies and the private sector.
Nouri added that the Razi Institute’s expansion continues, with projects underway to produce new vaccines for highly pathogenic avian influenza and foot-and-mouth disease strains, reinforcing the institute’s position at the forefront of scientific innovation and public health protection.
