Mazandaran ships over 110 tons of kiwi, citrus fruits

Sari – The northern province of Mazandaran, a key hub for Iran's agricultural production, is maintaining a robust export flow of its signature kiwi and citrus fruits.

Asadollah Teymouri, the acting head of the province's Agriculture Organization, confirmed that export operations are proceeding without interruption.

"Our measures are designed to prevent any disruption in the production-to-market chain under the current circumstances," he said.

According to Teymouri, a total of 44,875 tons of kiwi have been shipped abroad through nearly 2,000 consignments. India remains a primary market, receiving 17,443 tons, while the remaining 27,432 tons have been distributed to other international destinations.

“Citrus exports have also seen substantial activity, with 69,117 tons of various citrus products already dispatched from the province. These shipments are reaching a diverse range of markets, including member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Central Asian nations of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, as well as countries across the Persian Gulf.”

Teymouri emphasized that the export drive is a key component of a broader strategy to support local producers and secure a foothold in foreign markets. "This process will continue," he affirmed, highlighting the province's commitment to maintaining its role as a major agricultural exporter.
