Tehran - Iran is drafting a national roadmap for medicinal plant development based on the comparative advantages of each province, according to the head of the Iranian Union of Medicinal Plant Associations.

 

Mohammad Baqer Rezaei said the plan will use scientific data to identify provincial priorities while strengthening the sector's value chain from cultivation and processing to marketing.

 

He also called for greater investment, research, and private-sector participation to boost production and exports.

 

Rezaei highlighted western provinces, particularly Kurdistan, as having strong potential to become leading hubs for medicinal plant production and processing, supporting rural development and job creation.
