Iran unveils over 20 new types of improved seeds

Iran has unveiled over 20 new types of improved seeds that can withstand drought and climate change.
On the eve of Government Week and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Agricultural Research, Education, and Extension Organization, over 20 innovative varieties of improved crop seeds developed by researchers at the Ministry of Agriculture were officially introduced to farmers.
Since the beginning of this year, through the efforts of researchers at the Institute for Seed and Plant Improvement, 23 improved seeds resistant to drought and climate change have been introduced.
Iran is about 90% self-sufficient in the production of primary corn hybrid seeds and 100% self-sufficient in forage crops.
These seeds mark a significant milestone in the country's efforts to enhance food security and sustainability.
