Iran turns to solar power, coastal development to empower nomads

Tehran – In a move to modernize traditional lifestyles while boosting regional development, Iran's Nomadic Affairs Organization has unveiled a dual strategy focusing on renewable energy and maritime economic integration for southern tribal populations.
According to a report by the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture, the government will install solar power plants to provide reliable electricity to nomadic settlements, replacing diesel generators and reducing environmental impact.
New maritime infrastructure projects will include specific provisions to create economic opportunities for nomadic communities along Iran's southern shores, the report added.
The future of Iran's development must include all segments of society, said the acting head of the Nomadic Affairs Organization.
"By bringing electricity through solar technology and connecting tribal communities to coastal economic projects, we're addressing both immediate needs and long-term growth,” he added.
