Iran potato exports surge in first five months

Tehran – Iran's potato exports have experienced a significant boost, reaching a value of $52 million in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year, the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) reported.
This figure places potatoes among the country's top five agricultural exports during this period.
IRICA further reported a remarkable 33 percent increase in the overall value of Iran's agricultural product exports during the same period compared to the previous year.
In total, Iran exported 2.657 million tons of agricultural products worth $1.453 billion, marking a 22 percent rise in weight year over year.
Earlier reports from IRICA indicated that Iran's agricultural exports reached $1.18 billion in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, representing a 32 percent increase in value compared to the previous year. The weight of these exports also rose by 22 percent.
The country's efforts to boost agricultural exports have yielded positive results, with the value of agricultural and foodstuff products increasing by 22.5 percent in the previous Iranian calendar year. These figures underscore Iran's growing prominence in the global agricultural market.
