Iran opens first aquaculture breeding center in Bushehr

Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture has opened the country’s first aquaculture breeding center in the southern province of Bushehr.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday for the country's first aquaculture breeding center in the Daliran region of Bushehr province.
This new facility is expected to boost the local economy, create jobs, and promote sustainable marine resource management.
"The construction of the country's first aquaculture breeding center in Bushehr, on the one hand, will create widespread employment in the region and, on the other hand, will lead to the conservation of natural resources and prevent corruption,” Ahmad Mohammadizadeh, the Governor of Bushehr, said.
He added, "Our estimates show that this project can create jobs for thousands of people and, in particular, employ young graduates in fisheries and agriculture in their specialized field."
The head of the Bushehr’s Agriculture Organization also addressed the inauguration ceremony and emphasized the need for a transformation in shrimp farming methods, adding, "This project is a fundamental step towards the modernization of the fisheries industry and job creation in Bushehr province."
Morteza Bahrani added, "The construction of the Daliran Aquaculture Breeding Center, using new and closed-circuit shrimp farming methods, is exactly the path that has been experienced in different countries around the world and has yielded successful results as a knowledge-based method. Although new work is initially met with resistance, this project clearly shows that we can trust the proven methods in the world and the capabilities of young Iranian scientists to implement these experiences in the country."
