Iran honey exports experiencing rapid growth

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the country's beekeeping sector employs a significant workforce of 155,000 people, operating in 94,932 apiaries. The government is now aiming to further boost honey production by increasing the yield per colony to three to four kilograms.
This ambitious goal is aligned with the Seventh National Development Plan, which seeks to enhance domestic honey production and expand exports to meet global demand. In addition to honey, Iran also produces other valuable bee byproducts such as royal jelly, pollen, beeswax, propolis, and bee venom.
This achievement solidifies Iran's position as a global leader in the honey industry, ranking third in the world in terms of production.
