Tehran – An official with the Iran Fisheries Organization said the country’s farmed caviar production during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year has reached over 7,500 kilograms. 

 

“Some 7,568 kilograms of farmed caviar have been produced so far,” Naser Karami-Rad said. 

 

He added that 3,317 tons of sturgeon meat were also produced during the said period. 

 

Gilan and Mazandaran provinces are leading the way in sturgeon farming, with 150 and 55 active farms, respectively.
