Iran exports of trout surge in first quarter

Iran's fishery exports experienced significant growth in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-June 20), according to Abbas Mokhtari, director general of the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture’s Office of Quality Improvement, Processing, and Aquatic Market.
The country shipped out 73,369 tons of fishery products valued at $121.4 million during this period, marking a substantial increase of over 30% in value compared to the same period last year, Mokhtari said.
Trout exports alone reached 3,094 tons worth $6.6 million, he added.
Mokhtari further emphasized that the overall weight of fishery exports rose by more than 40% year-on-year, highlighting a positive trend for the Iranian fishery industry.
