Iran celebrates National Olive Day

Tehran – December 4th marks National Olive Day in Iran.
The country’s olive industry is thriving, with 75,000 hectares dedicated to olive cultivation.
This significant acreage yields 150,000 tons of olives annually, contributing to the production of 12,750 tons of olive oil and 75,000 tons of canned olives.
The Agriculture Ministry’s olive project scheme titled the “National Plan for Development of Olive Cultivation and Processing” seeks to increase olive oil production in Iran to a level where the country would have no further needs for import.
