Iran aims to enhance value of egg exports

The head of Iran's Egg Producers Union has announced plans to significantly increase egg export revenue by 5 to 6 times through processing and value addition.

Mohammad Moradi, the union's CEO, said that Iran has the potential to produce 1.6 million tons of eggs annually, with the surplus production intended for export to target markets.

"Given the egg production in our export target countries, our main long-term strategy is to export processed eggs to these markets, which have a longer shelf life," Moradi explained.

He further elaborated that exporting processed eggs would not only prevent raw egg sales but also generate 5 to 6 times more revenue for the country.

Providing an update on the latest egg export figures, Moradi noted that 48,000 tons of eggs have been exported to target markets since the beginning of the year.

"The agricultural sector has witnessed significant export growth over the past one to two years," he remarked.

"Given the changes taking place in the country, special support measures are needed to ensure the continued growth of this moving train."

Moradi's comments highlight Iran's efforts to enhance the value of its egg exports by moving beyond raw sales and focusing on processed products. This strategy aims to maximize revenue generation and strengthen Iran's position in the international egg market.
