Tehran – Iran's annual production of agricultural and livestock products has reached 127 million tons, the deputy minister of agriculture said.

 

Alireza Rafiei-Pour hailed the performance of the Ministry of Agriculture's research centers for this significant growth, despite challenges posed by climate and limited water resources.

 

Currently, Iran imports only 5% of its red meat.  The country has achieved self-sufficiency in poultry, eggs, dairy, and aquaculture, with surplus production resulting in millions of tons of exports.
