Iran Tuna exports surge in 5 months

Tehran – Iran's tuna exports have seen a significant boost in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year, reaching a value of $14.6 million.
This figure represents a 24% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
Overall, Iran's fishery exports have experienced a substantial growth of 32% in both value and weight during the first five months of the year. The country exported 68,000 tons of fishery products worth $138 million, marking a 32% rise compared to the previous year.
Earlier reports from the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture's Office of Quality Improvement, Processing, and Aquatic Market indicated a similar trend. In the first quarter of the year, Iran's fishery exports increased by over 30%, reaching a value of $121.4 million. The weight of exported fishery products also saw a 40% increase during this period.
For the entire last Iranian calendar year, the country's fishery exports grew by 3%, exceeding $310 million in total value. The weight of exported fishery products increased by 12% to 149,000 metric tons.
